Tracy Austin and the Business of Sports – Friday, June 10 from 11:45 AM – 1:30 PM
Peninsula Center Library
Community Room

Tracy Austin, a local tennis super star, business person, broadcaster and philanthropist, will be our guest speaker for a candid assessment of the “Business of Sports.” Tracy, a former World number-one female professional tennis player from the Palos Verdes Peninsula, won the women’s singles title at the US Open in 1979 and 1981 and the mixed doubles title with her brother John at Wimbledon in 1980. Tracy went on to win a total of 29 singles titles during her years on the court, and in 1992 she became the youngest person inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Since 1991, she has focused on the business aspects of the sport and has done on-air tennis commentary for the USA Network, NBC, the BBC and Australia’s Seven Network.

This is a special program for the business community, and the public is cordially invited. Lunch will be provided.

The Zerunyan Center for Business, Entrepreneurship, and Community Development is a not-for-profit program located at the Peninsula Center Library in Rolling Hills Estates, CA. Founded by former Mayor, Council Member of Rolling Hills Estates and President of California Contract Cities Association Frank Vram Zerunyan in partnership with the Palos Verdes Library District, the center strives to advance both the science and practice of business, entrepreneurship, and community development.

The Palos Verdes Library District operates three outstanding public libraries on the Palos Verdes Peninsula with resources and facilities that supplement and enhance the mission of the Zerunyan Center.

Funded by individual, corporate, and foundation gifts and grants the Center offers a specialized collection of books, periodicals, and online resources related to its mission and sponsors topical events and activities featuring experts from the education, business, public, and non-profit sectors. The Center also partners with other non-profit organizations to offer scholarships and mentorship opportunities.
