Tracy Austin, a local tennis super star, business person, broadcaster and philanthropist, will be our guest speaker for a candid assessment of the “Business of Sports.” Tracy, a former World number-one female professional tennis player from the Palos Verdes Peninsula, won the women’s singles title at the US Open in 1979 and 1981 and the mixed doubles title with her brother John at Wimbledon in 1980. Tracy went on to win a total of 29 singles titles during her years on the court, and in 1992 she became the youngest person inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Since 1991, she has focused on the business aspects of the sport and has done on-air tennis commentary for the USA Network, NBC, the BBC and Australia’s Seven Network.
This is a special program for the business community, and the public is cordially invited. Lunch will be provided.
